Poems Inspired by the Novel

Ever Changing Me

I am who you want me to be
You mold me, make me, an image of you
But as I grow my lids lift and I see
This world, so open, breathtaking, and new
So inviting, I open the gate and flee
Finding a new rhythm in my sole
Jumping, laughing, singing, a new me
And now…
I am who I want me to be

Love Me, My Love

I see and feel no love consuming me
She says “Just wait you’ll learn this love”
Knowledge? No it’s love I need guarantee
I learn?
No.
I see?
Yes, maybe.
But to feel?
Yes - that I want
I start to feel this love, partly mine
Brought upon by the taste of Bitter Sweet
Forever this love will be a part of me
Long after the Bitter Sweet taste is gone

God’s Eyes

Feeling something more under the blossoming pear tree
Their Eyes Were Watching God
A greater love than the fenced in home
Their Eyes Were Watching God
Singing the song of life, the air carefree
Their Eyes Were Watching God
Living the life that was ment to be lived
Their Eyes Were Watching God
Riding the storm, “Staring at the dark”
Their Eyes Were Watching God
